Story
Decidable's origin story started at the University of Oslo, Department of Informatics, where the soon-to-be founders studied computer science. Here, we studied algorithms, operating systems, databases and the likes. Gaining this knowledge made us realize something. With software, the materials and resources to build are essentially free and abundant. There were immense opportunities to build things people would actually use and pay for.
That's why we started Decidable. We wanted to build, and our knowledge of software development made it possible. So while we were still students, we formed a company and started building.
Our first endeavour was Peoply. The event platforms we were forced to use were clunky, outdated, and frustrating. We knew we could do better, so we built a new platform from scratch that actually made sense. Today it's used and maintained by students at the same institute where we studied.
Following this, we pivoted to function as an agency to gain experience building products for clients. We built websites and custom software for ninito, AF-gruppen, Los Tacos, Flamme Burger, Abonera, and others. This was a great learning experience and proved to be valuable work.
Today, we have shifted the focus to building our own products. Based in the Oslo, Bislett region, we seek out gaps in the market for software that can solve real problems and generate revenue.
